For our site in Toulouse, France, we have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and professional :

Bioinformatics Senior Scientist (M/F) - Permanent Contract

To join our Bioinformatics group to lead a team of 4 bioinformatics scientists dedicated to mass-spectrometry based proteomics and biomarker discovery and contribute to our collaborative drug discovery projects.

Missions and responsibilities :

•Manage a team of 4 bioinformaticians •Lead research and development of novel algorithms and tools for quality control, analysis and visualization of proteomics data •Support project teams in analyzing large scale proteomics data sets
•Work with researchers in interdisciplinary project teams to explain the results of your analysis and give advice on experimental design •Coordinate needs, workload and resources in the analysis of proteomics data •Participate to customer meetings

Knowledge, skills and abilities :

•Leadership skills •Enthusiasm for visual analytics and data science
•Experience in the analysis of mass-spectrometry based proteomics or other omics data •Knowledge of databases (i.e. pathway databases) and experience with high-performance computing environments
•Fluent in at least two programming languages, e.g. R/R-Shiny and Python •Scientific rigor and excellent analytical and synthetic capabilities. •Dynamic personality with passion for innovation and problem-solving and a willingness to apply core areas of knowledge to new areas of interest to Evotec and its clients •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the initiative to actively communicate with data producers and data users in an interdisciplinary environment •Fluent English

Experience and education :

•PhD in bioinformatics, mathematics, computer science, or related field •Experience in proteomics is a plus •Previous experience in management •Proven track record in data science, machine-learning, computational life science, computer science, computational biology/chemistry, mathematics, or statistics
