Mass Spectrometry Research Technician (f/m/d) We are currently seeking a highly motivated Research Technician for Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics (full-time). The position is available in the Core Facility Proteomics (CFP, head: Klaus Kratochwill), at the Medical University of Vienna.
Your Profile You have a degree in any relevant natural or life sciences. Previous experience in a proteomics or analytical lab is a plus. Expertise in mass spectrometry and bioanalytical research is of advantage. The working language is English, and excellent written and oral communication skills as well as high accuracy, reliability and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are a requirement.
Job Description Interesting projects and workflows ranging from basic proteomics to novel developments, such as single cell proteomics, carried out on various state-of-the art instruments result in varying and challenging tasks including: • Self-organized sample preparation (digestion, labeling, fractionation, etc.) • Learn to operate LC and MS devices (maintenance, measurement of samples, troubleshooting) • Perform data analysis supported by professional software (Proteome Discoverer, Spectronaut) • Take part in method establishment (single cell and plasma proteomics, PTM analysis, etc.)
The Facility The Core Facility Proteomics is located at the campus of the Medical University and supports researchers in their analytical challenges to identify, quantify and characterize proteins and peptides in complex systems ranging from cell lysates to body fluids. The services include protein identification, quantification (LFQ, TMT, DIA) as well as characterization of post-translational modifications or protein complexes using state-of-the-art LC-MS instrumentation.
