The Institute of Immunology is recruiting a: PhD student (65%) (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

  • Active collaboration in the BMBF-funded, interdisciplinary research core "DIASyM-Data-Independent Acquisition-based Systems Medicine: Mass spectrometry for high-throughput deep phenotyping of the heart failure syndrome"
  • Researching heart failure in the context of the cohort study and biodatabase "MyoVasc" (www.myovasc.de) by LC-MS-based metabolomics
  • Actively conducting systems medicine-oriented biomarker studies with a focus on data analysis and the establishment of standardized data analysis pipelines
  • Preparation of applications and project outlines for the acquisition of third-party funding

Your profile:

  • M.Sc. or equivalent in any of the following disciplines or similar: molecular biology, biochemistry, (bio-)analytical chemistry, bioinformatics, biomedical data science
  • Interest in LC-MS/MS, metabolomics specifically data analysis and metabolite annotation, prior experience with mass spectrometry is a plus
  • Interest in biomedical analysis and biomarker studies
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English (German language skills are not required)
  • Being goal oriented with strong teamwork skills and enthusiasm for cutting-edge research technology
