P3S core facility (Plateforme Post-génomique de la Pitié Salpêtrière) is located in Sorbonne University’s Faculty of Medicine, on the site of the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital, leading hospital in France. We are unique in that we have two complementary areas of activity in genomics and proteomics. While we are open to all areas of biological research, an essential part of our expertise is linked to biomedical research. We were awarded the national IBiSA label in 2009 and ISO 9001 certification in 2016, in recognition of the quality of our work.
The proteomics activity is based on mass spectrometry approaches coupled with liquid chromatography. P3S is equipped with a UHPLC coupling (nanoElute2, Bruker) and a very high sensitivity mass spectrometer (timsTOF HT, Bruker). The team currently comprises 3 engineers.
We recruit a proteomics engineer on a one-year contract with a good knowledge of protein biochemistry, mass spectrometry, chromatographic systems and the main mass spectrometry data analysis tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for our research services, in collaboration with the researchers, as well as for the platform's own research and development projects. She or he will need to be rigorous, independent and have good organisational skills. Good interpersonal and service skills are also essential, given the collaborative nature of the core facility’s work.
Missions
• Preparing protein samples, applying and adapting biochemistry techniques
• Using mass spectrometry techniques coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography
• Analysing LC-MS/MS data
• Writing reports and technical notes
• Interacting with P3S users and supporting them upstream and downstream of proteomic analysis
• Participating in equipment maintenance operations
• Involving yourself in the quality approach
