In the Department for “Systematic Proteome Research & Bioanalytics” in the Institute for Experimental Medicine at the Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany a
PhD-position
in the field of
Protein/Proteome/Proteoform Analytics, Mass Spectrometry
is available from March, 1st, 2024.
The research-focus of the group lies on the development of novel (bio)analytical methods for protein- and proteome analytics (identification, quantification, posttranslational modifications, mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography) and the application of these methods on biomedical projects.
The PhD-project will focus (i) on the development of analytical approaches for LC-/CE-MS based proteoform-centric proteomics, including bottom-up and top-down proteomics approaches, and (ii) on the application of these methods on actual biomedical research questions.
We are looking for a graduated student (chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related fields) with a strong interest in (bio)chemical-analytical research methods aiming for a doctoral degree (PhD-student).
A strong background in one or more of the following fields: bioanalytics, mass spectrometry, chromatography, electrophoresis, protein chemistry, as well as excellent exams, is a prerequisite.
Applicants are expected to be highly motivated, reliable and interested to work in an interdisciplinary environment in a young and international team.
